How will being an Open and Affirming congregation affect our children?

By naming ourselves an Open and Affirming Church, we will help foster in our children understanding, compassion, and just behavior. We will provide them with a more loving and equitable environment where the differences among us are seen as opportunities for growth in Christian community. We will seek to break down walls of prejudice and silence as we learn to accept diversity displayed in one another. We will reflect God's loving affirmation of homosexual and mentally or physically challenged young people in our church and provide support for them and their families.
