Beginning this September 9th there is a monthly meeting focusing on a deeper spiritual knowing of ourselves. It is based on the concept that we can find our own personal connection with God through sacred experiential group meetings. For many years, Mary Morreale’s Music and Transformation classes have provided this opportunity for many people who were able to make a weekly commitment to this process. Now we are offering a monthly evening meeting. The goal is to explore one’s own individual connection to spirit with an opportunity to share with others ones insights.
The first meeting is designed to explore the possible topics to be covered and to establish the relevant “Sacred Dialogue” guidelines that were used so well with the Sacred Conversations on Race. Possible topics are: Buddhism, spirituality from the Jungian perspective, looking at the writings of John O’Donohue, writing Anam Cara, David Whyte with The Three Marriages: Reimaging Work, Self and Relationship or Dan Siegel’s Mindful Brain. Each meeting will be structured, with a meditation, time for sharing and a focus with an experiential piece designed to deepen our own personal spiritual understanding. These modalities could include music, writing, movement, mandalas, collage and/or others. We welcome other suggestions of interest at this first meeting.
The group will be meeting the second Wednesday of each month from 7-9 PM, at Ann West’s house at 58 Nut Plains Rd West. Guilford. It is open to men and women who either have taken the Music & Transformation classes or who are wishing to get a taste of this type of exploration.
Since the size is limited to twelve people, we are requesting people sign up for five consecutive meetings from Sept-Jan or Feb- June.
You may register with Penelope at 453-5249. Any questions can be answered by the facilitators’ -Nancy Mann at 245-0513, Ann West at 453-0291 or Nora Dixon at 318-0683.
This group is an opportunity to share, in a non-judgmental, accepting environment, our longing for a deeper connection to God. We hope you will join us.
