First Church Guilford Participates in United Nations Peace Day

More than 100 residents joined us on Thursday on the

Guilford Green for the United Nations Peace Day. The

celebration included: a march with drums and song

from the corner next to the library to the bandstand at

3:50; church bells ringing followed by a moment of

silence; words of inspiration by local leaders; display

of some of the entries in the Peace Art Exhibit; display

of Peace Mandalas made by children from 5 church

schools in Guilford and Madison; and a kindness rock

table – (paint a word on a stone and leave it

somewhere in town for someone to find).
