APRIL SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
Our monthly spiritual practice activities are creative ways to connect to God, and can help with the hectic day to day stress of schedules and dominance of technology. May these 'practices' bring balance, as you and your family cultivate new ways to engage with God and each other.
During the time of LENT, there are many ways to encourage children to slow down, connect with God, and learn the stories of Jesus. Try doing some of these contemplative practices with your family to feel God's Spirit.
Get a bell, a chime, or any other calming sound. Try and listen to the sound all the way until it disappears.
Make a mindfulness glitter jar. Fill a jar with water, about an inch of glitter, glitter glue, and food coloring. Shake the jar up, and watch the glitter settle as you breathe deeply.
Try a centering moment before your family eats together or drives anywhere. Just a moment of silence to be intentionally present with God.
Find a meaningful object to place in the middle of your table when your family eats together. This can be a centerpiece that reminds you to talk about the stories of Jesus.
