CHILDREN'S DAY, JUNE 2ND
We are excited for our annual Children's Day Sunday coming up on June 2nd, a special service when our children lead us in prayer, song, creative worship, and ultimately connection with God and each other! This year, our time together has been spent following the PROPHETS, Messengers of God, to learn how to live godly lives.
Because our children lead the entire worship service, we begin rehearsing with each class during Sunday School time in the month of May. If your child is able to participate on June 2nd, please reply to this email to confirm their presence in May and on June 2nd, as well as what grade they are in.
TEACHER/MENTOR APPRECIATION LUNCHEON, JUNE 2ND
After our Children's Day service, there will be a time of gratitude in Fellowship Hall to show appreciation to the many volunteers who dedicate their time, and show love to our kids throughout the school year! Sunday School teachers, teen assistants, and confirmation mentors, we look forward to celebrating you after the service!
HELP IS NEEDED ON THIS SPECIAL DAY! IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE, PLEASE EMAIL BECKY.
THIS SUNDAY, MAY 19TH
After our children dismiss to Chapel, we will begin rehearsing for our Children's Day program!
After our service, we will have our annual All Church Potluck Picnic. The church provides pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and veggie burgers, regular and GF rolls, and lemonade. Families are asked to contribute a side dish and/or desserts to feed 8. Last names beginning with A-G, please bring desserts; Last names beginning with H-Z, please bring side dishes/salads. **Please reply to this email if you can help with the picnic and clean-up.
MAY SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
Our monthly spiritual practice activities are creative ways to connect to God, and can help with the hectic day to day stress of schedules and dominance of technology. May these 'practices' bring balance, as you and your family cultivate new ways to engage with God and each other.
Prayer, simply put, is connecting and communicating with God. An acrostic prayer is when you begin each line of a prayer with a letter that forms a word. For instance, if you choose the word LOVE, then each line of the prayer needs to begin with L, then O, and so on.
As a family, choose a word you'd like to focus on. Have each member of the family take turns writing a line of prayer to God, beginning with the letter they're assigned, then read it together daily at a designated time like at dinner or bed time.
