PHOTO EXHIBIT: A YEAR OF LIVING IN SANCTUARY

GUILFORD: A traveling photo exhibit documents the lives of two men living in sanctuary as they seek a court hearing on their immigration status, Nelson Pinos at First and Summerfield Methodist Church, New Haven, and Sujitno Sajuti at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden. The exhibit provides a glimpse into the strength of family unity and the compassion and generosity of a church community as it opens its space to welcome the stranger. The exhibit is open to the public at First Congregational Church, UCC, 110 Broad Street, Guilford on Sunday, May 26.  Visitors are welcome to attend the 10 a.m. worship service which will include speakers from Unidad Latina en Accion (ULA). All are invited for coffee, conversation and additional photos after the service from 11:30 to 12:30 in Fellowship Hall, Church Street entrance. Admission to the exhibit is free but donations to help support the men in sanctuary are welcome.
