@10am SUNDAY WORSHIP

Seasons of Change, Embracing the Day!!  We continue to use stories in the Bible that remind us that even when things are difficult and our lives change, we can be strong and courageous. Our friends and special people in our lives can help us.

Our Bible story this month is from the Book of Ruth. We will read about what a good friend Ruth was to her mother in law Naomi. Friendship and community are such a gift!

Look up MEERKATS and see how they stay safe in community!

Students in grades Pre K through 8th Grade will proceed to Chapel time and Sunday School after the Children's 10:16 Moment.

Nursery care is provided for children every Sunday in the Nursery 3 years old and younger.

February SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
Our monthly spiritual practice activities are creative ways to connect to God, and can help with the hectic day to day stress of schedules and dominance of technology. May these 'practices' bring balance, as you and your family cultivate new ways to engage with God and each other.

Create a Sacred Space in the Home
“Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with Him, familiarly and with confidence and love, as to the dearest and most loving of friends.” ~ St. Alphonsus Liguori
Our family recently made a major move from a little rural Mayberry town to a larger metropolitan area. Once we were somewhat settled, I resolved to set aside a particular part of our new home for prayer, quiet reading, and reflection. It became a wall in our living room that dons icons and framed images, chief among them, Jesus.

Ben and I found ourselves walking past this little space each day and pausing, however briefly, for a quick blessing and prayer. I started blessing the girls each morning, too, and then in the evening I encouraged
them to spend a few moments before bed just telling Jesus about their day.
You’ll be amazed at how setting aside a small portion of your home will transform the atmosphere in the house and in your family!

Winter is here, along with cold temperatures and snow, which has me dreaming of warm summer camp days. Summer registration is chugging along, and summer will be here soon.

But you don't have to wait for summer to come to Silver Lake! February's bulletin insert reminds your families that there's plenty to do at camp before summer, like our Maple Sugaring retreat for youth currently in grades 6-8.

Maple Sugaring, March 20-22, is a low-cost ($115!!), low-commitment (only 2 nights!!) way to try out Silver Lake.

Camp brochures are available in the Christian Education Office!
